I am committed to guiding and supporting those who seek to forge their own path and thrive. For 25 years, my passion has been to help and empower others on their journey. My diverse experiences have given me a deep foundation to understand and connect with people on a unique level.
Years ago, I worked as a computer programmer in the tech industry. Despite my success on paper, I knew it wasn’t right for me and ignored my gut feeling. I was deeply unhappy, and my final years in the corporate world were tough, ultimately leading to a diagnosis of depression.
Not entirely knowing where this would lead, I retrained as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, Personal Trainer, and Sports Massage Therapist. In 2007, I finally left my day job to become a full-time therapist.
A year later, I founded The Body Matters clinic. I had no clients at first, but somehow, I knew it would work, and it has. My heart was singing.
This Seth Godin quote deeply resonated with me: “It’s tough to be good at something you’re not interested in. It’s nearly impossible to be great at something you’re not obsessed with.”
Why I do this
Four years after opening the clinic, however, my mum died unexpectedly, stopping me in my tracks. Then I was told I might have cancer. I was also told I might go blind. As it turned out, it was an autoimmune disease that typically affects people more than 20 years my senior.
I was in burnout. I didn't realise it, but I had been experiencing high levels of anxiety, stress, overwhelm, self-doubt, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, and fear, which led to overworking and overthinking.
They say the most challenging events can lead to great growth, and that’s exactly what happened. Four years ago, I was introduced to the Realisation Process, a subtle, body-centred series of practices that have completely reshaped my life.
Today, as a Senior Realisation Process teacher, a hypnotherapist, and a bodyworker, I am dedicated to listening and connecting to my mind and body at a much deeper level. Now fit and healthy, my life is filled with love, freedom, joy, fun, and connection.
