Meditation

Meditation is a powerful and profound tool for nurturing both physical and emotional healing. There are many styles of meditation, and the one I teach is deeply inspired by the Realisation Process, developed by Judith Blackstone, Ph.D.

This form of meditation has been found to heal both the mind and body, addressing psychological and physical pain, as well as aiding in the recovery from injuries and chronic structural issues.

It supports spiritual growth through attuning to ourselves and the world around us and living as our truest self. It can help develop self-confidence, reduce anger, fear, and anxiety and enhance our overall well-being and vitality. By building emotional resilience, individuals find joy and happiness and embrace life more fully.

The techniques in this approach include:

  • Inhabiting Your Body: Rather than simply being aware of your body, you learn to fully inhabit it, fostering a sense of presence and vitality.
  • Releasing Tension: By softening and letting go of habitual holding patterns, you can release the physical and emotional constraints that hold you back in life.
  • Reawakening Human Qualities: This practice helps you attune to qualities such as voice, love, and understanding that may have been shut down over time.
  • Connecting with Your Deepest Self: You learn to access the most subtle dimension of your being, experienced as stillness or spaciousness within your body. This allows you to uncover your authentic self while transcending individuality. Embodying this experience deepens and integrates your human capacities, enabling you to engage with life more fully.
  • Breathing from the Core: You’ll discover how to breathe from the subtle channel running vertically through your core, enhancing your connection to life’s energy.
  • Refining Breath and Senses: By refining your breath and senses, you’ll learn to see, hear, and touch on a more subtle level, deepening your experience of the world.
  • Opening the Whole Self: This approach opens not just the mind or heart, but the entire body, allowing you to meditate from a place of wholeness.
  • Experiencing Balanced Mind: Through these practices, you will cultivate a mind that is both balanced and at peace.
  • Tapping into Inner Energy: You will open up to the upward flow of energy from deep within your body, fostering a sense of fluidity and presence.
  • Embodying Presence: Ultimately, you will experience a fluid, vibrant presence that permeates your being.

This meditation style can lead to profound and lasting transformation, aligning your body and mind. The techniques work directly with the fascia, the living network within our bodies that connects muscles, bones, and organs. By influencing the fascia, these exercises also calm the nervous system, thanks to its intrinsic connection with the vagus nerve.

Whether practised for a few minutes or longer, seated, standing, or in motion, these exercises can heal trauma stored in both the mind and body. This healing process fosters personal growth, psychological resilience, and naturally builds self-confidence, a sense of safety, authenticity, and spontaneity.

The relational aspect of this meditation deepens and refines your connection with others, helping to resolve imbalances and areas of tension. The exercises offer a restorative experience, nurturing self-compassion and supporting overall well-being.
